David Scott Carlick
Dave Carlick is presently an independent director at PayActiv (venture-funded startup providing a FinTech platform to employers, deployed as an HR benefit to give employees access to their earned but unpaid wages), and Music Audience Exchange (venture-funded company connecting brands to the followers of bands through a digital platform and sponsorships).
His fifteen years in venture capital included involvement in a variety of positions with VantagePoint Capital Partners, and Rho Ventures. At those two firms, he led or co-led many investments including Reachlocal (NASDAQ RLOC), where Carlick was a founding director and served as Chairman; Intermix Media (NASDAQ, IMIX, parent company of MySpace) where Carlick was Chairman through the sale to News Corp., and XGraph (acquired by Oracle).
Prior, Carlick founded Carlick Advertising, which was for fifteen years a leading provider of marketing services to Silicon Valley Startups; many went public during the relationship, including Cypress Semiconductor, Daisy Systems, Network Equipment Technologies, Network General, and Silicon Graphics. Carlick Advertising was acquired by Bozell, an international ad agency. While at the Poppe Tyson subsidiary of Bozell, Carlick co-led the founding of poppe.com, an early leader in Internet service (merged with Modem Media, as Modem Media / Poppe Tyson public as NASDAQ MMPT) and DoubleClick (spun out in merger with Internet Advertising Networks, NASDAQ DCLK, acquired by Google, NASDAQ GOOG).
Dave Carlick has been a member of the Mediasmith Board of Directors since 2009.
